Formerly known as Balharshah, Ballarpur is a municipal council located in the Chandrapur district of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is known to be the second largest city in the district. The transportation facility is served by Balharshah Junction railway station that is the last station located in the South Central Railway zone of Indian Railways and the Central Railway zone. Ballarpur also has good connectivity to Nagpur via road and the nearest functioning airport is is Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur. Other than the rail connectivity, Ballarpur is quite connected through buses, trains and by road as well.
