Being the biggest city in terms of population and area of the Wardha district, Hinganghat is a city located in the Wardha district of Maharashtra. Hinganghat is situated in the fertile Wardha valley that was historically known as the centre of the Indian cotton trade and also a major centre for the grains market as well. Hinganghat tehsil consists of 76 villages and the city has the highest literacy rate in Maharashtra state. Hinganghat has the tallest statue of Lord Vithoba also known as Panduranga located on the banks of river Vena. Other than these, the famous social worker Baba Amte was also born in Hinganghat only. Hinganghat is well-connected with the help of rail lines and airports.
