Being a part of the Central Provinces during the British Raj, Warora is a city and municipal council located in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra. Warora was also known as a coal-mining center during British rule. Many people would be aware of Baba Amte, the workplace of this famous social worker is also located in Warora only, the workplace is known as Anandwan. Surprisingly, Warora is also a region where Jamsetji Tata started its steel plant starting the success story of Tata Steel. Warora also had deposits of coal in the vicinity but when Jamsetji took it to be tested in Germany, the coal was found unsuitable.
